01 · The idea
End-to-end encryption in one minute
With ordinary “encrypted” services your data is protected on the way to the server – and then the provider can open it. With E2EE the data is encrypted on the sender’s device and decrypted only on the recipient’s. Nobody in between holds the key.

Transport encryption (TLS) is not enough. It protects the connection, but the server – and anyone who breaks into it – sees the content in plain form.
A breach stops being a disaster. If the server is stolen, leaked or subpoenaed, what leaks is encrypted data without keys.
The hard part is not the cipher. It is key management, sharing data with groups, adding and removing users, and doing all that without a trusted middleman. That is what a platform has to solve for you.
“E2EE” has to mean it. Some products keep keys, manage user identities or decrypt data in the middle before re-encrypting it. PrivMX does none of that.
02 · The technology
PrivMX: E2EE as a building block
PrivMX combines zero-knowledge servers, client-side encryption, a secure communication protocol and an independent public-key infrastructure. Encryption, decryption and access control run on the client; the server cannot decrypt your data. It is self-hosted and stack-agnostic, built by Simplito in Toruń, Poland.
